We’ve got some exciting news to share.
Connie and James Roberts, the owners of the popular Downtown Southern Restaurant Toutant, are opening a second restaurant in the city this summer. Located on the first floor of the recently renovated 500 Seneca Building, Dobutsu will be a seafood centric restaurant. The restaurant will take advantage of their gorgeous space, featuring floor to ceiling windows and an intimate outdoor courtyard. The restaurant will seat roughly 80, with an additional 30 at the bar. Diners will find fresh seafood displayed over crushed ice, a cold kitchen station that will be open in the dining room so they can watch some of the action and for those outside in the courtyard, a window into the main kitchen.
Similar to it’s sister restaurant Toutant, the seafood at Dobutsu will be fresh and flown i from all over the world to ensure the highest quality of ingredients. Paired with local seasonal ingredients, the menu will features items such as traditional Hawaiian Poke rice bowls, Pacific style salads and grilled seafood on a close flame Robata Grill.
The restaurant will be open five days a week for Happy Hour and Dinner (Tuesday through Saturday) and will be open for lunch Wednesday through Friday (at least at the beginning).
As friends of the Roberts and huge fans of everything that goes on at Toutant, we couldn’t be more excited to see another restaurant from this talented group. We’ll be following the construction progress along and keep everyone up to date with the latest developments.
