Food Porn: Century Grill

The Century Grill is one of my favorite spots to drink and eat downtown, in fact it’s my favorite place to eat before a Sabres game..  It’s somewhat of a hidden gem, nestled on Pearl Street right across from the Hyatt downtown.  There’s a couple reasons why I love this place:

  • It is the only restaurant / bar in Buffalo I know that serves Pabst Blue Ribbon on tap.
  • Their wings and fries are awesome
  • The inside looks amazing, old horse stalls and church pews serve as booths for dining
  • The owner walks around in jean overalls

However, what is getting me down is the lack of people that I’ve seen in there during my last couple of visits.  Normally a person wouldn’t be upset about not waiting to be seated, but this place is one of my favorite places downtown.  I want it to stay open, I want people to enjoy it.  I’ve brought my friends there several times for happy hours and they all have the same reaction, they never knew it existed.

That aside, I had their Century Burger for their first time.

This was an awesome burger, here’s what its made of:

Our Half Pound Burger on a Bologna Steak with Cheddar, Swiss, Provolone & Bacon

This tasted better then it looks, but here's an idea of the layers.

Alli got herself their amazing wings (she wants everyone to know how delicious they are), and a side order of their great fries (similiar to Duff’s for those who are familiar).

If you’re looking for a place to eat or drink before a Sabres game downtown, I urge you to not go to Pearl Street (its good, but not as good) and try to stay away from the Cobblestone area (overrated).  Hit up Century Grill, get a PBR or Flying Bison on draft and get some wings.

Great review. Definitely the most unique burger in Buffalo. The bar itself rocks! Especially with the expansion of draft taps. Everything about this establishment including its owners and employees is awesome.
Not only is this location a great place to fuel up prior to a Sabres game, but also a great place to watch the games! One of the best places to hang with life long fans & cheer the team on.
Also, a hidden secret. The banquet hall of the Masons meeting hall next door is luxurious, taking you back in time.
